Q-Hybrid pre/post job scripting

Date Added May 12, 2013

Target Platforms:   XenServer, Physical Systems, Hyper-V

Q-Hybrid jobs support executing any custom scripts on your target VMs either before or after the backup completes. These scripts may be used to perform any necessary tasks on the VM being protected, such as truncating Exchange logs, exporting databases files, etc. Alike will automatically run any executable files or scripts that are located in the folder below.

Please note: these files must reside on the system being protected.  Also note that Alike will create these folders automatically upon the initial backup, if they do not exist.

Folder structure (on the target system):
%WINDIR%\QSI\UserScripts\Pre
%WINDIR%\QSI\UserScripts\PostAlways
%WINDIR%\QSI\UserScripts\PostSuccessOnly

"Pre" folder
Any file/script that resides in this folder will be executed before the backup/vss snapshot occurs.  Alike will wait until the file or script exits before continuing to perform the backup job.  Tasks such as exporting databases and copying files onto volumes to be protected are best done here.

"PostAlways" folder
Any file/script that resides in this folder will be executed at the end of a backup or replication-- regardless of the success of that job.

"PostSuccessOnly" folder
Any file/script that resides in this folder will be executed at the end of a backup or replication-- only if the backup/replication is successful.  Tasks such as log truncation and rotation are best placed here.

Please note that if a folder contains multiple files/scripts, Alike will execute them all individually, in alphabetical order.
