What’s New in Alike v4.0

With Alike v4.0, we strengthen our commitment to being the best backup solution for Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Hyper-V, and a variety of physical systems. Our goal was to make this version the most user-friendly, powerful, and efficient version of Alike. We accomplished that with vast improvements in Alike’s platform to boost I/O performance, drastically simplify configuration tasks, and provide clear insight into statistics and troubleshooting.

Because of these significant improvements, as well as important licensing changes, we ask that you please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these exciting changes before you upgrade.

What’s New in Alike v4.0: Major Changes

User Interface Overhaul

Alike v4.0 introduces a sleek, new web-based management console that provides increased simplicity, speed, and visibility to your backup and disaster recovery needs. You can now manage your data remotely from any computer or mobile device. In addition, the new drag and drop feature allows you to create new jobs in just a few clicks. You also have complete control over your hosts with the ability to add a new virtual or physical host at any time.

Offsite Vaulting Enhancements

Completely rebuilt from the ground up, Alike DR’s Offsite Vaulting in v4.0 supports improved performance and vastly simplified management, and its durability can handle any environment. Alike DR’s offsite vaulting feature now supports Amazon’s S3 cloud storage. With the ability to connect to the cloud, added to Alike’s unrivaled deduplication, you can provide site level protection anywhere with more efficiency than ever.

• Automatic self-tuning performance analysis jobs

*Current users under an active maintenance plan may upgrade v4.0 under our one-to-one licensing model; however, please note that you will need to uninstall older versions for a fresh install. In order to transfer your license key(s), you will need to download our Alike v4.0 license conversion tool, which you can access here, along with clear instructions on how to upgrade as seamlessly as possible.
