Quadric Software Expands Alike to Physical Systems, Enhances Hyper-V Support with Release of v3.5

Support of physical systems and enhanced support for Microsoft Hyper-V join over twenty new/improved features found in Alike v3.5 – now available for download.

Burlington, VT — January 07, 2015 — Quadric Software, a leader in multi-hypervisor backup and disaster recovery solutions, began the new year with the release of Alike v3.5. This significant update strengthens Quadric’s position with its growing community of organizations and partners worldwide.

The Alike product line provides organizations of all sizes with a powerful, flexible, and intuitive solution for all their virtual and physical backup and disaster recovery needs. Alike v3.5 introduces protection for Windows based physical machines, as well as enhanced performance, functionality, and protection of all Hyper-V environments. The software’s new P2V support for physical Windows systems was designed to help users incorporate non-virtualized systems into an existing virtual backup or disaster recovery plan through a single, simple solution. It leverages Quadric Software’s widely trusted Q-Hybrid technology to deliver the same level of protection it provides virtual environments. Users get the same unrivaled global deduplication the Alike is known for, along with seamless integration with all existing Alike virtual jobs. With its DR edition, users get scheduled, high performance replication from their physical systems to Xen or Hyper-V. For a limited time, Quadric Software is offering physical licenses at a special introductory price.

In addition to the expanded support for physical systems, Quadric Software focused on enhancing Alike’s performance in Hyper-V environments. The solution was simplified to make backup and recovery more intuitive than ever before. Added functionality–such as a complete offering of both their exclusive Q-Hybrid and Enhanced protection technologies–aligns Alike’s support of Hyper-V to that of its XenServer platform support. Users also benefit from additional functionality such as: full CSV storage support, as well as support for gen 1 and gen 2 VMs in this newest build.
